Good times with great friends and icecream
by Edwin
Today was a relaxed day again. After Rick brought Elma to her work, we both went to the kitchen table with our laptops to do some work. I planned the trip of the next day, uploaded some pictures and did some administration that needed to be done. Someone asked me yesterday if I missed the Netherlands. It may sound funny, but what I miss sometimes is just a regular workday at home. So today I did a small part of that before I went to the city again.
In the afternoon I visited another thing I really wanted to see: the big Lincoln statue. It was quite huge and impressive actually. Unfortunately the famous reflection water in front of the statue was in construction, so besides the statue there was not that much to see. I walked some more through the city, did some shopping and went home again.
I wanted to surprise Elma & Rick with a nice desert after diner, so I bought two big buckets of icecream. When I arrived home I found out that Rick had the same idea as I had, so now we had three big buckets of icecream, hmmmm! Rick had to do some arrangement in the freezer, because we weren’t able to eat it all. But it was totally delicious and we really enjoyed it. Elma obviously enjoyed it the most as you can see in the pictures of today 😉
We played some more games of chess in the evening. I was happily surprised that Elma can play chess pretty good too and we had a lovely last night together. I realized that leaving them feels a bit like leaving home again. I really enjoyed my time here with my great friends.
