More Dutchies in Boston

by Edwin

Today was another great holiday. I went with a boat to some of the islands at the coast of Boston. The weather was perfect today, sunny and about 32° Celcius. While I was on the boat I heard two nice girls talking Dutch so asked if they were from Holland too. Obviously they were too and we spend the rest of the day together at the islands. The islands weren’t that exciting, but it was just very nice to hang out there on a nice summerday like today. I was happy to meet these girls, made the day even better 🙂

Although I have no problems with speaking English, it’s very nice to speak Dutch from time to time. It just talks a little bit faster/easier. While we were crossing the island, one of the girls told me that I was here in Boston just at the perfect time, because they had a lot of bad weather lately, but today was really a perfect day to visit the islands.

At the end of the day when we were back in Boston they had to go home to pack their backs because they were leaving back to Holland again this weekend and I ate at a nice eating-hall in the centre of the city. After diner I went back home to chill out at bit, because we decided to meet again in the evening. I also packed my bag, because tomorrow I’m traveling to Washington DC.

After diner I went back home and did some work for a Dutch client at the kitchen-table of the studenthouse (don’t I just have a totally awesome job? :D) In the evening I had a drink with the girls downtown and also met some cool guys. Our ways seperated again when they went to a club where you had to pay twenty dollars to get in. I think I’ll never understand why people want to pay so much just to enter a club. Anyway, I ended the day by hanging out again at my favorite place of Boston and Cambridge: The Harvard Yard.
