Washington DC: Visting Elma & Rick
by Edwin
Yesterday one of the girls said that it was a little hard to leave the Netherlands when she came to America, but that it’ll be a lot harder to leave the America again. Today in the bus I was thinking about what she said and I’m sure she’s right. Leaving the Netherlands is actually not that hard, because you know you will return some time. But when you leave the US, you have no idea when you come back here. Fortunately my journey hast just begun and I can stay here for a couple of months, but today I already understood what she meant. I meet so many people and see so many cool places, but I never know when I’ll see them again and when I’ll be here again. So I will keep on enjoying every moment of this adventure as much as possible!
Today I spend most of the time in the bus from Boston to Washington DC, which was very nice actually. There is so much to see and it gives you a lot of time to think about a lot of things. I read a couple of articles about webdesign and photography, listened to some music and thought about my journey. I’m just only here since one week and I’ve already experienced so many things! 🙂
In the evening I arrived in Washington DC and finally saw my Dutch friends Elma & Rick again. That’s where the whole idea about this trip through America started and it’s really nice to see them again after such a long time. The brother of Rick was also here and we spend the rest of the night together catching up with each other. On my way to their house I saw a glimpse of the White House, I think I’ll see more of that house in the coming days, maybe I’ll drink some tea tomorrow with Obama. Anyway, a new city to discover!
P.S. If you want to check the blog of my friends Elma & Rick, you can find it here: http://rickenelma.blogspot.com (but they’re not as active online as I am… ;-))
