Relaxing in Oregon
by Edwin
After a week of living in the back of my car, the cabin felt like a nice hotel. I had a good sleep in the wooden house and after breakfast I drove through the small town. Joseph in Oregon is a small, cosy town with mainly one street. On my way to Joseph I crossed some stables and asked for information and maybe I go for another horseback ride one of these days. I went tot a local restaurant with internet to get connected with the rest of the world again. Surprisingly one of my best friends Angelina was online. She now lives for a couple of months in Budapest. I hadn’t seen her for a long time so it was really nice to catch up with each other again. We were both happy to live in this age with internet, what makes traveling alone less lonely.
In the afternoon I went back to the cabin and started reading a book. As I probably mentioned before, that’s a thing I love to do, but almost never come to actually do it. While I was reading the book I kept on hearing the creek behind the cabin and that brought me to another idea to do something we always did as kids and what I still like to do: building a dam in the creek. While I was doing some physical excersise by moving rocks on top of each other it came in my mind that it’s probably in my gens to build waterworks, since I’m Dutch. Before I even started of course I knew it was impossible to stop the creek, but it was fun as always trying to build a dam. 🙂
The rest of the day I relaxed at home. Dawn & Debbies mom happens to have a huge movie collection, so we watched a couple of movies in the evening. It’s nice to relax here for a couple of days. The last week was really exciting, but it’s good to have some relaxed days in between.
Hehehe….your dam comment made me chuckle ;-)……sounds like a really beautiful place…keep enjoying the journey xo
