The plans totally changed, next week LA!

by Edwin

While Christina was going to her work today I booked myself some train tickets and made plans for the next coming days to travel. That really helped me getting some new perspective for my journey. Tomorrow night I travel by train to New Orleans where I’ll stay a couple of days before I continue traveling to the west coast, LA.

I also wrote some people at couchsurfing.org to try to get some sleeping places in LA. I decided that from now on I’ll use that website if it works out good. I already had a profile there since a couple of years but never actually used it, so this will be the first time. I don’t have any replies yet, so if it doesn’t work out, I’ll just take a hostel somewhere, but I’m happy to got it a little clearer where I’m going the next week. The travel plans have been totally changed now, but I think it works out better this way. It’s just that it’s quite hard to travel through the middle part of the United States by train or bus. And I’m looking forward to visit the west coast.

So the next couple of days I spend a long, long time in American trains. I’m really wondering how that will be. I hope I got internet during the ride and else you’ll hear again from me in a couple of days. Anyway I’ll try to write down every day and just maybe upload them a bit later.

I spend some time today in the local Starbucks working on a website. In the afternoon a friend of Christina (the friend where I’m staying these days) showed up in the Starbucks and invited me to play a game of Frisbee Golf together. I had never done that before and I really enjoyed it. It’s like golf, but than with a frisbee. It was in the woods, so the trick was to avoid the trees. We had a lot of fun! 🙂

Back home Christina suggested to go to the movies in the evening, that was a nice idea. It’s interesting that when you’re watching a movie you can totally forget you’re in a different country. All with all it was a nice day in the middle of nowhere and I got my travel plans ready for the coming days, so that’s exciting! 😎
