The departure is getting closer

In less than a month I’ll be arriving in New York. Time is moving fast these days. It’s really exciting! There are some interesting things going on these days. I learned more than ever the importance of a good network. I was still thinking about where to stay in NY and a couple of weeks ago I talked with a friend about it and he told me he had some friends living there. He contacted them for me and they contacted another friend of them who has an apartment in Manhattan (nearby Central Park). As it looks right now I can probably stay at his place for a couple of days. Isn’t that awesome? 😀 Another friend of mine who is American also hooked me up with some of her American friends, so I already got some people I ‘know’ on the other side of the ocean… That makes me look forward to the trip even more.

A couple of weeks ago I bought Lonely Planet Travel Photography: A Guide to Taking Better Pictures and I already learned some interesting things about travel photography. Ofcourse I still need to learn a lot, but I’m already looking forward to take pictures in the States. Last, but not least: Yesterday I was in a bookstore and I saw a Travel Journal. The nice thing is that it comes with a checklist, so that will maybe help me not to forget anything. If you can think of something that I might forget: please let me know 😉

That was it for now, in a couple of weeks the adventure actually starts! I’ll keep you updated!
