Planning a road trip and cooking Italian food

by Edwin

Today I started planning my road trip for the next couple of months. Dawn showed me a nice tool for that: mapquest.com. You can drag your route on the map and it tells you how far it is and how much time it will take to get you there. As it looks right now and if I can make a good deal for a rental car I’ll make a road trip in the coming four till six weeks, quite exciting.

After planning the road trip and doing some work (business needs to stay running also these days) I went to the supermarket to do some shoppings for diner tonight. I offered to cook Dawn and Steve a nice diner. It took me at least half an hour in the huge supermarket to find everything. At the checkout I had an argument with the manager, because he didn’t accept my driving license as prove of my age to buy wine. It’s so ridiculous, they make such a big deal here in America of buying some alcohol. Fortunately there was another supermarket right around the corner and there they did accept my driving license. I was happy that it worked out, because with a good diner comes a good wine of course.

So in the night I hijacked the kitchen and made one of my favorite meals: Italian Spaghetti à la Edwin. 😉 It always tastes a little different, but it turned out good again, so I was very happy with that and Dawn and Steve liked it too. We relaxed at home and hang out till late in the night again. We decided to postpone my departure a little more, because there is still so much to see here and we have a good time and a lot of fun together. The plan is now to start my road trip next week. 😎
