Re-inspired

Last night I showed my photos to Pete (Jennifers dad) and while I was looking back at all my pictures it really felt like a dream. I realized again how much I’ve seen in the last couple of weeks. Some things I even almost forgot or it looked like it was years ago. It’s just that I have so many awesome experiences here and I see so many beautiful places. I realized that if I could, I would do it again immediately. This realization was very good for me, because last week I felt quite like I was ready to go home again. It was just that I was a bit tired of traveling for a couple of days, but right now I’m really re-inspired to visit more beautiful places. Looking back at the last weeks really made me looking forward to continue my roadtrip.

I continued my roadtrip around noon after I packed my bags again and said goodbye to Jennifer and her parents. It was a beautiful ride through mountains and canyons in the direction of Utah. It’s true that I’m here just at the perfect time of the year, because all the trees are starting to color. I enjoyed the whole day, I just love driving! Just before sunset I arrived at the red rocks in Utah. I had seen those rocks at pictures already and they are absolutely beautiful when you see them in real. I realized that it was getting dark soon, so when I saw a sign ‘restaurant’ I pulled over to stop there for diner and maybe for a sleepover. I parked my car and walked to the restaurant. When I arrived there, I discovered it was a very luxe and quite expensive place, so I just chose the cheapest entree they had. It was a nice vegetarian meal, which I liked because I eat already so much meat here everyday. The staff of the restaurant was really friendly to me. No bragging, but it felt like almost all the girls were flirting with me. I wondered if it was my Dutch accent or just their professional kindness. When I finished diner and walked out of the restaurant one of the guys that worked there offered me a ride with a golf car to the parkingplace. That was nice, because it was already dark. We talked a bit and he was super friendly too. He said that if I was quiet I could just stay parked at the parkingplace for the night, which of course I happily did.

I ended the day by watching the stars, because there were just few times in my life before that I could see so many like tonight. This restaurant was located in the middle of nowhere in the nature between all the red rocks, so there was almost no light and you could see uncountable many stars. It was very beautiful. I went to bed early in the evening, so I could wake up around sunrise. I really loved to continue my road trip again today, driving through this beautiful country is absolutely one of the best things there is!
