Traveling makes you love your passions even more

Today was another relaxed day. We hang out at home and went to a big mall in the afternoon. I already visited a big mall with my friends Elma & Rick in Washington DC, but it was fun to see one again. It’s something you don’t have in the Netherlands in this size. Many restaurants and shops in one superbig building. I have to admit that maybe about eighty percent of the mall is focussed on women, but they also have a guy section with of course an Apple store and things like that. It was interesting that there was also one store that was there just to promote one sport car. I tried to sit in it, but I didn’t really fit in it. About three weeks ago I was sitting in a Corvette, but I’m just to tall for those type of cars. Anyway, it was fun to walk around in the big mall and see shops like that.

My favorite moment of the day was when I discovered a big store full of kitchen and cooking equipment. They had many spices, ingredients and cooking tools all over the place. There also was a book section and if I wasn’t limited by what I can take with me in the airplane, I would definitely have bought some of them. I talked with the manager of the store and it was nice to have a conversation again with someone that’s also passionate about cooking. She told me that they give free cooking classes each sunday, that is so cool! Unfortunately I can’t be there, but still it’s nice that they give cooking classes.

Being in that cooking store really made me realize again how much I miss cooking. I was already aware of that, but I just really enjoyed being surrounded by cooking equipment and ingredients. One of my friends I know from earlier traveling said to me last week “that’s what traveling does… it makes you love your passions even more!” and that’s so true. I’m really looking forward to be in my own kitchen again and cook some nice meals.

Today Jennifers father invited me to join him and some friends from his church to a trip to the mountains this weekend. They’re going to hang out in a luxe resort in the mountains and I could join them for free, so that’s really nice. This means that I probably won’t be able to update the blog the next two days, so the next update will probably be at sunday or monday.
