Weekend in the mountains
by Edwin
This weekend in the mountains was fun. At friday-afternoon we left for a two hours drive to the mountains. We arrived at a big resort with many wooden cabins, a swimmingpool, a hot tub, a game-hall with pool-tables, pingpong-tables and more like that. This weekend was organized by the church where Jennifers parents go to and was only for guys. We were with I think about 300 guys from all ages. Besides some church services there was also the option to do a lot of outdoor activities. I went rappelling (nl: abseilen) from a high mountain next to the resort. I already did that a couple of years ago in Europe and it was nice to do it again. The thing of rapelling is that the first five seconds are the most exciting: you have to let go and trust on the ropes. From then it’s just hopping against the wall and let your self go down. Besides the outdoor-activities we also spend time playing basketball and hanging out in and around the pool. In the evening there was a campfire till late in the night. I met a lot of cool people and had a nice relaxing weekend.
Right now I’m home alone at Jennifer house, because they all had other things to do. That gave me the opportunity to do some work that needed to be done and to write this blog. I turned on an Italian radio-station and did some webdesign work again, just like back home. 🙂 I really enjoy just doing the normal things like back home for a while. Later today I’ll plan the route for the next couple of days, because tomorrow I start driving again. On advice of one of my friends we checked my car today (oil and tires), what was a good idea after about 4000 miles. Fortunately everything is fine, I’m blessed with a very good car. Tomorrow I continue in the direction of the Grand Canyon which I expect to be very beautiful. First I cross Utah (where the famous red rocks are) and then I’ll reach the Grand Canyon probably at tuesday. So, exciting days are coming again, I’ll keep you updated! 😎
Heej Ed!

Liefs Jes
Edwin! Wow, great that you were able to get away with 300 guys from Jen’s parents’ church in the mountains of Colorado. Sorry that I missed seeing you here, but it was also very busy from my side. Enjoy the Grand Canyon. I have been to Arizona many times to visit my grandmother but I have never made it to the Grand Canyon. Hopefully someday. I would love to see it. Doe de groetjes. 😉
See that you are online…
So good that you are having a great time. How funny is my Mom! Ha!
